Google Maps don’t exist on life’s Journey .... a four-part series Mind your Style (and mind mapping)

Right, I have been rather rebellious with the blog over the last month or two – sorta just ignored penning down my thoughts because I just wanted to let my mind wander – and, oh, does my mind wander. The most exercise I do is the constant blitz of ideas that run through my mind. See, I did it again! Back on track, over the last two months I just wanted to breathe and feel – good, bad and a little lost too. For me, the unknown is really where the magic lies so why do I fe
    In Search of Me

    In Search of Me

So, when it comes to fashion I pretty much have always had a sense of who I am and what I like. I sorta always just accepted my eccentricity, my innate desire for vibrancy and the escape that fantasy provides. My eclectic mix of styles, periods, colour and texture follow no real rules just instinct. Maybe I was just born with this confidence, maybe it exists within most children and I just haven’t evolved into your typical ‘adult’ sense of style or maybe it was as simple as

Ath-LUX Sporty with some extra SPICE

So much for a staycation I ended up visiting Durban over the holidays…eek. Yip travelling on my own with two kids and catching a red-eye flight was well, let’s just say memorable. But we made it, and it was so worth the travelling drama with this mama. Durban gave me all kinds of hometown feels especially spending time with both my grandma’s. Showing my kids my old school and the house, I grew up in was reminder that when life gives us lemon’s we make Achar or pickle 😊 M
    Orange is the New Black

    Orange is the New Black

Well not quite, but it’s working its magic. Tangerine, burnt orange, rust if you must, hell even a good ole pop of Fanta orange – spells fun; full stop. Orange is the only colour that shares its name with a fruit – so when you see orange your brain can almost smell and taste the fruit. It’s really a sensory overload – warms you right up in the autumn and in winter it conjures up thoughts of the leaves turning all kinda gorgeous shades of orange – I can smell the fragrance

Print on Print Like a PRINT’CESS

Now this is a trend that never ends – print on print is a staple dose of fabulousness – like the perfect blend of mixed masala! Add some spice to your wardrobe – mix your fav prints to recreate some magic that will be sure to make you stand out and might just even grab the attention of your PRINTS Charming – sorry just couldn’t help myself. Now for my print’cess magic: I literally threw on this outfit and then realised that this is a pretty accurate description of me ‘embr
Suit UP, Show UP and Speak UP

Suit UP, Show UP and Speak UP

It’s super late; my 7-year old’s snuggled up in my bed, the baby monitor is on and the annoying sleep-inducing music app. is blaring in the background. Mr Big is working the night shift again and I can’t fall off to sleep. This year has been just weird so far; I’ve been sick for all of January, in fact so sick that I decided to call it quits on breastfeeding my little guy after 2.5 years because my body was feeling the toll. To make matters worse my heart is sore because I m
